Pipes and Drums of Hawaii
This group, organized in 1984, represents both the Honolulu Police Department and the Honolulu Fire Department. Their uniform is the Black Watch tartan which was worn by peacekeeping units in Scotland nearly 250 years ago. They play more than 50 performances annually. The Caledonian Society of Hawaii
The Caledonian Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded in 1965 for the purpose of furthering Scottish culture in Hawaii, preserving and teaching about Scottish heritage, and providing educational programs throughout the year for members and the public. The premier event is the annual Burns Supper in January, but there are various other activities including Scottish Film Night, Soup Supper & Ceilidh, Clan Night, and Chieftain’s Night. Royal Scottish Country Dance Society
The Hawaii Branch of RSCDS, an international organization headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland, was founded in 1973 to provide Scottish Country Dance classes in a non-profit organization that teaches dance classes through the Moiliili Community Center between September-June on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 pm. Scottish Country Dancing is the social dancing of Scotland and includes Jigs, Reels, and a unique Scottish dance called a Strathspey.
